People who work to repair the sarchophagous have to work in shifts. When outside, they take breaks in lead booths to limit whatever amount of exposure they can limit. There is a picture of it I think in either the Time Magazine or National Geographic Magazine websites. I am more thinking the latter. As for the sarchophagous, there are reports that due to the rushing to build it after the disaster the sarchophagus is deteriorating fast with water leaks, usafe construction, and just about every other major problem that can come with a collapsing stucture.

The reason it looks "like its had more time to cook" was because the previous photo was taken before the AK-47 was used to chip parts off, i think they used 30 rounds and it was quite brittle, because the sand from around the reactor core melted with...

I can't think ho dangerous can become the near area, and if the dust is spread over by weather events.
